Update - Wednesday, April 1
Our communities have evolved significantly over the past three weeks. Despite the numerous challenges presented by the COVID-19 public health emergency, the Performance team continues to adapt to ensure uninterrupted service for patients and clients. At present, we have transitioned 75% of our services to our telehealth format and, in order to fulfill our duty as an essential healthcare provider, we continue to offer onsite appointments for individuals requiring skilled therapy interventions that telehealth cannot provide. In doing so, the Performance team maintains strict adherence to the CDC Guidelines for preventing transmission of the virus in order to ensure the health safety of our patients and staff.
Throughout the past two weeks, most commercial insurance payors began recognizing telehealth as a valuable healthcare service and thus agreed to reimburse for the use of those services. As of Monday, March 30th, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that they might cover physical therapy telehealth services. While we are awaiting the final details regarding that information, our team will remain in contact with current patients to provide updates and transition them into telehealth physical therapy.
Performance’s telehealth platform is fully operational, and patients have reported being highly satisfied with the service. As we transition current patients and clients to our telehealth platform, we will continue to accept new patients.
To do our part to keep you active and healthy, we are proud to present Performance Live as an addition to our current telehealth services. Performance Live is a curated set of live-streamed classes, straight from our homes to yours. We will be offering an enhanced group fitness class schedule for our current clients and patients, as well as the public, to keep you active and connected during this time of self-isolation.

Update - Friday, March 20
As our communities continue to respond to the public health crisis surrounding COVID-19, we at Performance Physical Therapy and Wellness have decided to move our operations entirely online. Our clinic locations will close to the public at the end of day on Friday, March 20th, and will remain closed until further notice.
New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo has issued an executive order to pause all non-essential businesses in the state in an effort to contain the virus. It is likely that the governors of Connecticut and New Jersey will follow Governor Cuomo’s lead and issue similar orders by the end of this week. Based on the example set forth by China and Italy, quarantine appears to be our nation’s best chance at beating this virus.
Performance, as a provider of healthcare services, is classified as an essential business and is thus permitted to continue operations. However, as advocates for health and wellness, we believe it is our duty to set an example and to act in a manner that ensures the health and safety of our patients and staff.
Despite closing our facilities to the public, we will maintain on-site sessions for those in immediate need of post-operative care or skilled intervention with the goal of transitioning their sessions to our telehealth platform as soon as appropriate. Our staff is available and prepared to educate all patients and clients on the technology necessary to receive telehealth services and to answer any other questions you may have. Coronavirus has thrown the entire world a curveball and we have all been forced to make adjustments, but we will find a way to adapt to what is sure to be our new norm for some time to come. The Performance team will remain flexible and continue to serve as a resource for our patients and clients as the situation progresses. Even though our experience will be one that exists online, rest assured you will receive the same quality of care as in our office, but from the comfort of your own home. Update - Thursday, March 12
At present, our communities are navigating a very complex public health emergency, similar in some ways to others we have seen in the past, but different in that COVID-19 currently has no vaccine and the exact form of transmission is not fully understood.
We at Performance remain dedicated to our mission - empowering people to live better - and believe it is our role and responsibility to prioritize the health and well-being of our patients, clients and team, to be a resource in the communities we serve, and to play a role in supporting local health officials and government leaders as they work to contain the virus. Our team will continue to monitor the situation and make decisions based on the latest scientific information available.
Over the past two weeks we have taken actions to keep our facilities as sanitized as possible, based on guidance from the CDC and local health departments. We continue to ask our staff and clients to adhere to the CDC guidelines for preventing transmission of the virus.
We appreciate your understanding of the need to make alterations to your regular routine. For many individuals, Performance fulfills a very important health and fitness need and we want to continue to fulfill that need in the safest, most efficient manner possible. As we continue to navigate this dynamic situation, additional modifications will be made to better serve you. Changes we are implementing immediately include: limiting traffic into our larger offices, separating tables and treatment areas to improve social distancing, enabling patients and clients to perform their sessions via telehealth, and, in certain cases, offering home-based therapy and training sessions. Members of our staff will be reaching out to patients and clients over the next 48 hours to determine the best course of action for each individual. Should information present requiring us to close a location, we will do so, and additional service offerings will be provided.
I want to thank you for supporting Performance as we navigate through this difficult situation. The health and well-being of our patients, clients and team remain the top priority for us.
